EDITORIAL BOARD:


Anand Patel is a 3L at the University of Virginia School of Law, where he serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the Virginia Journal of Law and Technology. Prior to law school, he worked for the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he majored in electrical engineering and computer science.
 


Annamma Samuel is the Head - Research & Publication, Altacit Global. She is a law graduate with a B.A., LL.B [Hons] and Master of Laws in Intellectual Property Rights from School of Indian Legal Thought, Mahatma Gandhi University, Cochin. She has successfully completed her Post Graduate Diploma in Cyber laws from NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad, Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Relations & Personnel Management from Rajendra Prasad Institute of Communication & Management Mumbai, India and Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management from Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi, India. A meritorious student all along she had secured II Rank in Master of Laws course, secured II Rank in Post Graduate Diploma in Cyber Laws and secured KULAPATHI’S Award for standing First in PG Diploma in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management. She was a former Lecturer in Tamilnadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai, teaching Post Graduate students Intellectual Property Rights and Cyber Laws. She is a regular speaker at various IPR forums and also a Visiting Faculty of Madras University for Cyber Laws.


Aysha Shaukat is a lawyer and policy activist in the area of Intellectual Property Law and Policy. A law graduate with an integrated Bachelors/ Masters Program in Law from Madras University. She also did her Masters in International Business and Public Affairs from the Columbia University New York and a summer program in Internet Law from Berkman Center, Harvard Law School. Aysha holds a Post graduate Diploma in Patent Law from NALSAR Hyderabad. She trained on Bioethics from the Indian Council of Medical Research and underwent an industry program from the National Institute of Fashion Technology, in addition to successfully completing a WIPO Certificate Program in Intellectual Property. Aysha Shaukat wears many hats, based in Chennai, India she comes with extensive experience both in the areas of Corporate Law and IP. She has worked for leading law firms based in India and enjoys exploring the nuanced issues that arise at the interface of business and IP. She currently is a consultant for various institutions and private law firms. Her areas of focus within the realm of IP are IT law, Traditional Knowledge, Geographical Indications and Social Innovation. She has also actively contributed to India's leading IP blog SpicyIP on these topics, highlighting new developments and current trends of thought in these areas.


Kevin McNish is a 2L at the University of Virginia School of Law, where he serves as an Articles Editor for the Virginia Journal of Law and Technology. He is also a Registered Patent Agent. Prior to law school, he attended Vanderbilt University, where he majored in physics, mathematics, and art history.



Sandeep K. Rathod is a registered Indian patent attorney with a Masters' degree in IP law from the University of Mumbai. Additionally, he has received scholarships for was awarded a Scholarship by the Association for Overseas Technical Scholarship, Japan (AOTS) to undergo extensive training as a Patent Expert jointly from the Japanese Patent Office & Japan Institute of Invention and Innovation and University of Washington's CASRIP program. He has also completed the UNISA two year IP law program on a WIPO scholarship. Sandeep heads the Patent team for Matrix Laboratories Limited {India} a subsidiary of Mylan Inc. He and his team are responsible for patent validity/ non-infringement analysis as well as patent litigation. He has been actively involved in almost a dozen patent litigations, in India and abroad. Sandeep is an avid speaker on patent law and has presented at multiple forums in India as well as Belgium, Switzerland, USA and Singapore.



Scott Kelly is a 3L at the University of Virginia School of Law where he is focusing his studies on intellectual property law. He serves as a member of the Article Review Board for the Virginia Journal of Law and Technology. Scott studied computer science at Virginia Tech and worked at a start-up company designing the user interface for an aerial camera. He is interested in the application of intellectual property law in the context of interactive entertainment.



Dr. Sudhir Ravindran is an Attorney-at-law and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England & Wales. He practices International law including intellectual property law, advising leading Indian Corporate clients and Foreign Companies & Law Firms. He was awarded a Ph.D. for his thesis title Intellectual Property Risk Management - A Critical Study by the NALSAR University, Hyderabad, India. Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Madras, India and Masters in Manufacturing Systems Engineering from the Warwick Manufacturing Group, University of Warwick, United Kingdom. A law graduate with Bachelor of Laws from the University of Bangalore, India and Masters in Law, from the School of Law, University of Warwick, United Kingdom. Mr. Ravindran has had specialised Education in IP and International Business Law from World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO), Geneva, NALSAR University, IIM Lucknow, IIM Ahmedabad, College of Law, United Kingdom, University of South Africa, (UNISA,), etc. He is a registered Patent & Trademark Agent in India and was awarded a Scholarship by the Association for Overseas Technical Scholarship, Japan (AOTS) to undergo extensive training as a Patent Expert jointly from the Japanese Patent Office & Japan Institute of Invention and Innovation. He is a representative of ICC India in the Commission on Intellectual Property of ICC, Paris, France and an Individual Observer of the Intellectual Property Constituency of ICANN. Dr. Ravindran is a regular speaker/guest lecturer in several universities, national and international conferences and has authored many articles and research papers on intellectual property law. He is the Editor and Co-author of the book titled Intellectual Property and Taxation published by LexisNexis Butterworths.
